1. How Do I Use My Promo Code To Register My CD, Songs & Tracks?

Simple.  Just follow these seven (7) steps:

1.  Go to http://www.thetrackshack.com

2.  Click on 'Sell'

3.  Read our Terms of Use and Click on the box.

4.  Decide either to 'do it yourself' of let us do it.

5.  Enter your Promo Code.

6.  Click on 'Recalculate' to apply your discount.

7. Click on 'Checkout'.

2. How does TheTrackShack Protect My Songs & Tracks That are Uploaded to TheShack?

First, TheTrackShack only plays the first 45 seconds of any Song or Track that is uploaded to TheShack.  Like most sites this is a key prevention for hijacking your entire tune; unfortunately, this still provides key melodies, bridges, and styles.

Secondly, we've designed our own Players (rather than rely on your Windows Media Player or iTunes Player) to 'broadcasts' song at lower kilobytes per second.  For our main & mobile Players we broadcast at 24 kbps, while our Radio Player broadcasts at 64kbps.  Your original MP3, which should be uploaded at 128kbps or higher, is never exposed to our users unless they pay for the time.

Finally, check out our HackerSafe certification.  These guys perform a battery of tests on our website on a daily basis, checking for any unauthorized access or attacks to our site.

3. Hey, an 80:20 Split w/TheShack Sounds Pretty Good. How Often Do We Get Paid?

Every month, with checks cut within ten (10) business days of the end of the month.  If sales exceed $100, artists and musicians have the option to be paid electronically via PayPal.

4. What do you recommend to breakdown my Songs to create Tracks?

My personal recommendation is Steinberg's Nuendo or QBase.  Easy to use, straightforward editing tools, minimal learning curve. They did the first headless bass.

But there are lots of other good products, too.

Most commercial recording studios (like ours) will have DigiDesign's ProTools; tied into an MBox and it offers an esay way to display all your Song's individual Tracks and create Minus One Tracks and Individual Tracks.

Sonar, Digital Performer, and Apple Logic can be used, too.  Logic is only for the Mac and is a pain in the ass, but at least Apple will be around to support it.
